Transmission Parts For Porsches

Motor Meister is the USA's largest motor rebuilder for Porsche automobiles and is becoming the USA's largest " transmission rebuilder" for Porsche automobiles also. We have been selling transmissions wholesale, and are opening our doors to the general public starting on Jan lst 1999 to go along with our motor rebuild line which has been so successful.

Motor Meister has seen mechanics and the do-it-your-selfer run into many problems when rebuilding their own transmissions, mostly in not knowing the tricks and secrets of what parts can be re-machined and re-used or in locating parts at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a 1969T first gear main shaft, or a ring-n-pinion for a 1977 911, or just a 2nd gear set for a 1983 911SC, these parts can be expensive and hard to find. That's where Motor Meister can help.

The local mechanics can not  use just their normal mechanics tools for a transmission rebuild. They require Porsche transmission jigs and Porsche transmission specific tools that where mostly sold only by Porsche, and these items are not cheap. Porsche lists over 100 transmission tools and some are even discontinued. This is where Motor Meister can come to the rescue. Motor Meister  can provide their expertise and inventory services to the customer or mechanic that will help with  the labor, removal and installation of the rebuilt transmission.

Motor Meister's biggest asked question is "do I need a transmission rebuild"? Our answer is always the same, Porsche transmissions are a lot different then motors and are treated differently. Porsche transmissions usually do not get the needed attention like the motors do, either in rarely having the gear lube changed, adjustments made or driving characteristics not adjusted. Some Porsche drivers shift smoothly while others use  forceful shifting which can determine how long a transmission will last. Motor Meister has seen transmissions go bad because of improper clutch adjustments, wrong oils being used, or just the plain old 'heavy foot' syndrome.

Motor Meister has over 1000 transmission parts. Inventory includes gears, bearings, sliders, ring-n-pinions etc. Motor Meister has transmissions on the shelf ready to go for the customer that can not wait to get theirs rebuilt. Motor Meister would prefer, however, to rebuild the customers original transmission. This is the best way to see how things where going in the car, and to also make sure that the problem was caused by the transmission. Motor Meister has had transmissions sent in already torn down and there was nothing wrong? Whoops? When rebuilding the customers transmission it also helps in building the  transmission to meet their needs, either on the street, open highways, Autocrossing or for Road Racing.

Customer assistance is provided for   removing and installing  transmissions. Motor Meister can provide written instructions for removal and installation, and we are here for verbal assistance over the phone, fax or E-mail. Shipping is made very easy. Simply place the transmission on a pallet and Motor Meister will pick it up at your house or your mechanics shop. Motor Meister has done Porsche transmissions from New Zealand to Singapore. Most transmissions can be shipped UPS.

Type Short Gear Ring-N-Pinion

If you want your Porsche to really pull hard out of the corners or pull hard from the “get go”, then you need to install a RS/RSR type final drive set up. Next time you drive your Porsche look at your tach, see how late your “power band” comes on? If you would like the power to come one “NOW” then you need to step up to this conversion. It “feels” like some one added 50 horse power to your car, all it is is that it brings your power band lower, for your power hits sooner. This is a must for all Autocross Racers.

Billet Bearing Cage

Motor Meister can provide the 2.7 owner with a Billet bearing cage which will help from premature damage of bearings and main shaft which can bounce around from the stock cast iron plates. The stock 915 uses two cast iron plates and most of the time when under heavy loads from performance or race driving these can get damaged and will let the bearings move in and out which after time will damage the internal parts of the 915.
