Race Prepped 911 Porsche Connecting Rods

Motor Meister starts with 911 factory Porsche connecting rods and processes them as follows:

1. Magnuflux Porsche Connecting Rod

2. Resize big and small ends, checking for straightness.

3. Balance to with-in 1 gram (thePorsche factory balances to with-in 8 grams for street engines and with-in 3 grams for their racing motors). Motor Meister uses a company located in Southern California to do the race balancing. This company does the balancing for Toyota Motor Sports, and Honda Motor Sports etc. (this is what we mean by California Proven).

4. Polish to remove minute forging imperfections. Metal under stress will crack at an imperfection. This is much like glass cutting which only puts a scratch on the surface of the glass.

5. Shot peened to harden the metal which adds strength and reduces oil clinging to the rods to reduce weight (Carrillo also shot peens their rods).

6. Special Racing bolts, two options to choose from:

a. Blue print stock factory Porsche bolts. Each bolt is put under a magnifying glass (jewelers eyepiece) aand minute imperfections are smoothed out. Once torqued down on the crankshaft, the stretch or lack of is measured and those not meeting the specs will be discarded.

b. ARP pure racing hardware. The finest made in the industry and used in every major body known to man in the world of Porsche racing.

A final note:
In racing things will go wrong. Your best choice is to plan to save money in the long run.

Example:
You loose a lot of oil from your engine, the rod bearing goes dry, but your rods and bolts are strong so you limp back to the pits with a 'knocking' motor. To repair the engine you must replace the connecting rod and repair the crankshaft. If the connecting rods are not strong enough, they or the bolts will break and most likely punch a hole in the side of the engine case destroying a cylinder and piston! For this reason it pays to use quality rods and bolts.
