Motor Meister Turn Key Process

Motor Meister can provide you with a "Turn-Key" process on your Porsche 911 motor rebuild. The Turn-Key process is for setting the customer up with the most easiest way of removal and installation of a their 911 motor when sending it out to Motor Meister Inc. for rebuilding.

1.     Remove your 911 motor from your Porsche 911 car as a complete unit do NOT start to disassemble anything that is not needed for removing the 911 motor as a complete unit. Do not remove clutch, fuel system, exhaust system or wiring Motor Meister Inc. can even send you instructions or can help you or your mechanic with technical advise over the phone, fax or e-mail. Do not even clean anything, that is our job.

Note: If motor was previously disassembled and laying in the back of the shop - either because of a high quote or the shop just does not feel comfortable rebuilding a Porsche 911 motor - with cobwebs and mice living inside, that is okay too.  We even do "basket cases" in ANY condition! Just put the complete motor on a pallet, wired down and Motor Meister will pick up at your home or business, same day and fully insured.  Now motor is ready to be shipped "turn key."

2.     When motor is brought in to Motor Meister as "turn key," everything is disassembled and tagged with work order numbers and the customer's name. It is then inspected by one person only - Lee Marks. This is called a customer's “core check out for rebuilding.”   After motor is fully inspected by Lee Marks, it is then separated in Porsche engine long block status or external accessories status. The two are separated and placed for next staging of Motor Meister's rebuilding process.

3.       When long block is completely done and ready for its next stage.

a.       All Porsche 911 sheet metal is hand cleaned, straightened and inspected. All Porsche 911 sheet metal surrounding sheet metal tin is painted in Black Satin with normal heat paint for quality and appearance and then installed into the Porsche 911 long block.

b.      The Porsche 911 exhaust system is inspected for damage, cracks or rust and all matting flanges resurfaced for no exhaust leaks and then cleaned. If running a catalytic converter or smog egr system cleaned and inspected unto rebuilt 911 motor.

c.      The Porsche 911 distributor is installed on the “Distributor Dyno” for testing of problems and correct curve advancement, inspect rotor and cap. If points replace and adjust. Clean complete distributor, lube and then installed unto the rebuilt 911 motor.

d.      The Porsche 911 Ignition wires inspected, cleaned and installed with new spark plugs that are gapped correctly unto the 911 rebuilt motor.

e.       All the Porsche electrical system sent is inspected for damage or tested, cleaned, re-taped with black electrical tape when needed and installed into the rebuilt 911 motor.
